Many of you have been asking "How'd he do it?!" Well you've tuned into the right place to find out. Here is our story and answers to the many questions I have been asked about us! Now we understand that we are nowhere near perfect when it comes to relationships but this isn't about being perfect, it is about love.

How Long?

So Christian has this talent, at any given time I could ask him "how long have we been dating?" And he would respond within 3-5 seconds the exact amount of years, months, and days we have been dating. It was actually really sweet. That fun fact was given to answer the first question - the day he proposed we had been dating 2 years 9 months and 27 days. We officially met on March 7th 2015 but did not start dating until April 19th 2016.

And on February 15th 2019 he became my fiance.

The Ring.

A little background history: Christian and I have been talking about marriage for a long time. We knew we wanted to get married within a year after he graduated college. Since he graduates December 2019 (WooHoo!! So proud of him!!) - which is this year - the conversation began to come up of when we would get married. So December 2018 is when he first started trying to get an idea of what kind of ring to get me. He took me to multiple rings shops. I don't even know the emotion I was feeling while we browsed the engagement ring section, but whatever emotion I had on the inside kept my mouth from opening. He later sweetly explained to me how valuable my opinion is. And I think it is safe to say I began to open up. One real reason I kept my mouth shut was because I wanted so badly for him to pick the ring out all by himself. He did. I loved it. I still love it. I am a sucker for rose gold. My purity ring I got at the age of thirteen was rose gold, I loved it seven years ago and I love it now even more. Rose gold isn't just a fad for me.

The Proposal.

So now that I knew he was on the look for a ring, I figured the proposal wouldn't be too far away. Christian quit asking me for my opinion on things, which really threw me off. I thought, well maybe he wasn't looking anymore. But not in a good way. I honestly thought that school was just a lot and he needed to focus on that. I know school gets a lot for me at times. Anytime I mentioned anything about it all he would say is RELAAAAXXXX. He never lies to me so he wouldn't tell me if it was soon or far away. Hindsight, it was cute. In the moment, it wasn't.

February 15th 2019 - I had work until 5pm. This was a normal thing for me, but that day my boss let me off at 4pm. And I was so happy! My friend, Mckenzie invited me and Christian to come hangout with her boyfriend, Peyton. So I rushed home from work, grabbed my things and was on my way to see my boo and friends.

I called him on the way to tell him I was off early and his response was "Well take your time because I have a bunch of school work to do before we go to our friend's house," This was also a normal thing, Christian and I do schoolwork together all the time. It is the only way we get everything done and still get to see each other.

While I was driving to Christian's house, I got a phone interview for a cosmetic internship - THAT I GOT. So I was sort of high on life because I just received a call giving me my dream internship. I would finally get to use my biological engineering degree in the field I love, cosmetics. That 35 minute drive to Christian's house seemed like a blink because I called just about everyone in my contacts to tell them how good the Lord was. Once I got to Christian's house, he said "hey let's go outside." I grabbed my bookbag and thought to myself yeah, it's a pretty day we can drink coffee and do schoolwork on the porch while the dog plays in the yard. Boy was I wrong. I walked outside and dropped my bag at the sight of the beautiful lights hanging on the porch (I am a sucker for any type of Christmas lights, or hanging lights, or any lights really). And within the light hung a string of photos - in chronological order - of different events that were memorable. It began with the first time we held hands, our first date, all of our homecoming and prom photos, and our latest decent photos as well. Oh, I forgot to mention that throughout our relationship I have made Christian many mixed CDs and he had our favorite song playing in the background. After walking me to the middle of the porch, he got down on one knee and gave a little speech and asked me to marry him. I cried before he even opened the ring box. After his loving words were through, I excitedly said yes. After all of that, Peyton Bahlinger came from hiding! Yes, Christian got someone to photograph all of that. He really does think of everything.

So a big shout out to Peyton helping Christian capture our sweet moment, and an even bigger shout out to God for giving me a smart handsome hunk I can now call my fiance.
