First of all, let's talk coffee. Let it be known that Katie isn't Katie without her coffee. Coffee is always my #1 thing on my Daily To Do List. So when in a new place it's great to have a heads up on where to get your phenomenal fuel.
Ground Central
For an iced latte, my go to in midtown would be Ground Central. It has several locations including midtown and in hell's kitchen. I originally was drawn into this cute coffee shop not for visual aesthetics but because I am a sucker for a clever play on words and a good latte - this place just happen to have both. I would highly recommend checking them out if you are in the area.

Stumptown Coffee Roasters
They actually have a New Orleans location, and ironically I have never been. It only took me 1,000 miles to try their coffee! The most recent trip I took to New York was with a friend, I teased and called her a "coffee snob" because she refused to drink Starbucks (which is something I grab literally every morning on my way out). We laughed about how bringing her to Stumptown was a highlight of the trip. I will drink whatever brand of coffee beans set in front of me: Starbucks, Pj's, Community Coffee. I drink it alllll. But as for her, she liked a more unique coffee taste. She adored the black coffee she got. I got a hot vanilla latte; the art was fantastic but as for the taste I certainly wasn't impressed but hey, I downed the whole cup because this girl gotta have her coffee.. amiright?!

Now let's talk food. I occasionally just drink coffee for meals when I am super busy (half the population says it's fine and the other half thinks I am a nut). But when I travel, I love trying new places and seeing what "locals" favorite places are. I do a lot of research before taking a trip because I like being prepared.
Southern Hospitality
The name speaks for the food and service. Southern Hospitality is a restaurant by Justin Timberlake that had probably the best chicken tenders I have ever eaten. The portions of food were absolutely more than enough. Between me and my friend, we split nachos and chicken tenders. If you know me you know that one of my top five foods is pulled pork nachos - and Justin's were delicious.

Pictured below is a typical New York pizza. It was nothing fancy, in fact I don't even remember the name of the place. Pizza is pizza to me and unless you are serving pineapples on it! Then you've captured my attention ~ with pineapples.

Serendipity
This next photo is actually from my trip in October 18'. This sundae is $1,000!!
No, it isn't mine and I didn't eat it. But it the manager at Serendipity let me take a photo with this gold ice cream sundae. It is served with real gold spoons and has hints of real gold all over it. It was quite impressive. If you look at the picture below all the gold and glam you will see the ice cream sundae we actually ate at Serendipity. The manager just adored my broadway wig loving sister and had this complementary sundae sent to our table! It was delicious, everything there was!

The real chocolate masterpiece we ate.

The adorable pink place is a restaurant you go for your instagram and then never go back. No shade at all, I am just a picky eater and it had some weird vibes. But as we all know (and if you don't you now do know) that I am obsessed with anything and everything pink! So I just had to go. Pink walls, pink tables, pink booths and chairs, pink plates, pink cups, pink napkins - it was a dream but I just wish the food lived up to the expectations I set from the choice of color. :)

Back to the Pizza
Now here's the good stuff - pineapple pizza!
Y'all can laugh at my pink glasses (told y'all I love pink) and my hat but as soon as we hopped off the plane we ran to the nearest food place because we might as well have been starving. This pizza place was right near our hotel in Times Square. And it was bomb.

BlackTap
The last thing I will talk about is this awesome stop called BlackTap. The burgers were heavenly and the milkshakes were fancy. Just look at it, all covered in goodies to make it all pretty. I bet you can guess who had which milkshake?! And if you can't then I will just tell you - Justie had the pretty pink and blue and I had the chocolate mess! They were big so we split them with our mom and brother. No regrets is all I am saying.

Thanks for stopping by to read about some food adventures! I hope this helped you if you are planning a trip to NYC or entertained you if you aren't :)
